Criterion Two should probably have been one of my most heavily weighted criterion. I take scholarly/creative achievement and research very seriously. Over the course of this 4-year plan, I have engaged in many writing projects and conducted a great deal of research. These two activities take up a good percentage of my professional time.
Nearly everything I do is based in research. If I can't support what I am saying or doing with research, there has to be an extremely important reason to be doing it. I have conducted research to assist with the development of new courses, new presentations, curriculum updating, writing projects, foundation development, launching a publication company, website design, creating an international network of scholars, marketing endeavors, and to facilitate my many mentoring partnerships. Through all of this research a product of some type has emerged including new course syllabi, school district presentations, books, articles, research organization, high school scholarship foundation, a publishing company, an international research organization, academic research conferences, and three referred journals. These are just a few of the projects I have engaged in over the course of the past 4 years.
Although these projects and endeavors have been amazing for my professional development, they have mainly been for the benefit of others. These have included things such as book on grief, a book on divorce, an organization to support researcher by providing a forum for research to be shared, a platform for the publication of scholarly work, and much more. Throughout this 4 years, I have grown more professionally than any other period of time in my career. This is just a brief narrative of my work within criterion two.
