Scottsdale Education, Business & Behavioral Sciences Research Conference Registration

Style Guidelines:

Proposal/abstract submissions should be no more than 1500 words. Include the following information for EACH author: name, institute affiliation, brief biography (100-word maximum), mailing address, email address.   Click to view a sample abstract that meets our guidelines.

Complete manuscripts should be submitted as a Microsoft Word-compatible file. The manuscript should be left-justified, formatted for 8.5 x 11-inch paper with one-inch margins, single-spaced and 10-point font. American Psychological Association (APA) sixth edition guidelines should be followed. Include the following information when submitting a complete paper:

   • Name, institute affiliation, mailing address and email address for EACH author
   • Paper title
   • Abstract
   • Keywords
   • Introduction
   • Body of the paper
   • Tables, figures, etc. properly position in the paper (if applicable)
   • Conclusion
   • Brief biography (100-word maximum)
   • References

The conference registration fee includes publication of up to 5 pages of a complete paper in the online proceedings.

Submission Guidelines:

Submit the prospectus/abstract or complete manuscript via file upload during registration.

To be eligible for a Best Paper Award, presenters must submit a completed paper to the Center for Scholastic Inquiry for review. 

Please indicate the specific conference track (education, business or behavioral sciences) for which the paper is being submitted.

All materials to be included in the online proceedings must be received by March 15, 2013. For submissions after March 15, 2013, please contact the Center for Scholastic Inquiry directly to make arrangements for inclusion in the online proceedings. We will do our best to include later submissions in the online proceedings whenever possible.

Acceptance:

The Center for Scholastic Inquiry will email a notification of acceptance or rejection of proposals/abstracts or complete papers within one week of receipt. If accepted, additional conference and registration-specific details will be included.  Proposals/abstracts/complete manuscripts that are declined, may be revised and resubmitted for consideration.

All accepted papers/abstracts are reviewed following a double-blind juried process and will be published in our online conference proceedings (unless otherwise requested).  

Conference Registration:

Whether presenting or not, EACH person attending the conference, must register for our 2013 Scottsdale International Academic Research Conference.  REGISTER NOW

Travel Visa:

The Center for Scholastic Inquiry suggests that non-U.S. conference attendees obtain a travel visa PRIOR to registering for the conference and paying registration fees.

Registration Fees:

The Center for Scholastic Inquiry conference fees for Scottsdale are as follows:

   • EARLY REGISTRATION:  $350.00 (US$) per individual to attend the conference. 
      Payments must be received on or before October 31, 2012.
   • STANDARD REGISTRATION:  $375.00 (US$) per individual to attend the conference.  
      Payments must be received on or before April, 17, 2013 (subject to availability).
   • STUDENT REGISTRATION:  $250 (US$) per student to attend the conference.  To   
      secure this rate, students must upload a copy of their current university/college photo ID 
      during registration.  Additionally, students must present their university/college photo ID 
      when they arrive at the conference.
   • ADDITIONAL PAPER/PRESENTATION:  $75.00 (US$) per individual per additional 
      paper/presentation if presenting more than once at the conference.  Please note that this 
      courtesy rate is the most affordable in the industry.
   • GRADUATE CREDIT:  $150 (US$) per credit for conference attendees, plus a $25 (US$) 
      administrative fee.  This variable credit course (1, 2 or 3 credits) is offered with our

Conference registration fees include the following:

   • Admission to each day of the conference (general session and all presentation sessions)
   • A 30-minute time slot to present one paper/presentation during the conference
   • Opportunity to serve as a presentation room facilitator
   • Opportunity to win Best Presentation Award (as determined by session attendee voting)
   • Inclusion in the online conference proceedings
   • A printed copy of the conference program
   • Standard review of your complete paper for publication consideration in a CSI 
      peer-reviewed journal for up to 12 months from the date of presentation
   • Opportunity to win Best Paper Award (as determined by executive board voting)
   • Admission to the conference eve welcome reception
   • Access to the virtual office from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each conference day
   • Daily breakfast
   • Daily afternoon snack
   • Access to the all-day beverage station from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each conference day. 

ALL attendees and presenters must pay the registration fee, and at least one author per paper must attend the conference.

Cancellations:

A full refund, less a $50 processing fee, will be given for cancellations received on or before  January 16, 2013.

As determined on a case-by-case basis, a one-year credit for one future conference may be extended for cancellations received between January 17 and  February 17, 2013.

Transfers and Substitutions:

Upon request and at our discretion, a complimentary transfer may be extended from one          Center for Scholastic Inquiry conference to another CSI conference offered within one year.

As scheduling permits, a complimentary substitution will be extended so that a designated colleague can attend and/or present in the event that the original registrant cannot.

The Center for Scholastic Inquiry is excited to hold our inaugural conference in Scottsdale, Arizona at the luxurious and serene Cottonwoods Resort & Suites.  For additional information about Cottonwoods Resort & Suites, please read our conference overview or visit the resort's website.

To welcome our attendees to Scottsdale, Cottonwoods Resort & Suites is extending special nightly rates of $139.00 (plus tax).

Room availability at this special conference rate is limited, so booking early is recommended. This conference rate will be available until March 27, 2013, or until sold out.

Presentation and Equipment:

Please bring your PC-compatible presentation on a USB flash drive.

Each presentation room will be equipped with a laptop, data projector and projection screen. If other technology is needed for your presentation, it is your responsibility to bring it to the conference.

Complimentary Internet service will be provided to conference attendees and presenters in the general session space and presentation rooms as warranted by the conference schedule and in the virtual office from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm each day of the conference.

The Center for Scholastic Inquiry will make every effort to accommodate, but cannot guarantee, preferred presentation dates and times. Presenters will receive email notification of scheduled presentation dates and times.
